TFBS Bioscience and Tottori University Hold Signing Ceremony for Manufacturing Partnership to Commercialize a Next-Generation Cancer Therapeutic Vaccinia Virus

Taipei, Taiwan — 26, December 2025

TFBS Bioscience, Inc. (Headquarters: New Taipei City, Taiwan; hereinafter  “TFBS”) and Tottori University (Headquarters: Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture; hereinafter “Tottori University”) are pleased to announce that they have entered into a manufacturing services agreement for the future development, commercialization, and practical application of FUVAC121, a next-generation vaccinia virus for cancer therapy developed by Professor Takafumi Nakamura and colleagues at the Faculty of Medicine, Tottori University (hereinafter, the “Partnership”). The signing ceremony was held on December 22, 2025, at the Tottori Campus of Tottori University.

FUVAC121, a next-generation oncolytic vaccinia virus developed by Professor Nakamura and his team, has demonstrated exceptionally high therapeutic efficacy, including complete regression of both injected and distant tumors, as well as the ability to restore sensitivity in tumors resistant to immune checkpoint inhibitors, representing an innovative mechanism of action. TFBS provides GMP-compliant development and manufacturing services for viral products as a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). Under this Partnership, TFBS will be responsible for the manufacturing of vaccinia virus FUVAC121 at its GMP-certified facilities.

In addition, together with Tottori University President Tasuku Harada and Professor Takafumi Nakamura, a courtesy visit was paid to Governor Shinji Hirai of Tottori Prefecture. President Harada and Professor Nakamura presented a report on the research achievements, followed by greetings from TFBS Chairman and CEO, Dr. Tatung Yuan. Governor Hirai expressed his appreciation for the research outcomes achieved by Tottori University and welcomed TFBS, referring to the newly launched direct flights between Tottori (Yonago Airport) and Taiwan (Taoyuan International Airport), and remarked, “We hope you will consider Tottori as your second home.”
